Pedaltrain Hard cases..

it seems like the older pedaltrains without the PP2+ mounts come with the black and silver hard ATA cases while the newer models with the PP2+ mounts come with gray and silver cases .... i wish customers had a choice to choose which case they want. i kinda like the black and silver cases. :hmm:

i wonder why they switched. anyone know if it's possible to get the new models with the older cases?

really? maybe i think they look cheesy because i'm just seeing them in small pics.. maybe i'd dig them too if i could see them in person. my bandmate has the black and silver one.. and it looks real sweet. except his board doesnt come with the PP2+ mount.

lol i know it's not supposed to be about the case but... whatever. i'm materialistic and shallow :P

I agree, the cases have a lot more engineering that the friggin pedal boards do. Haha. Also, while I do love the protection the Pro hard case provides, it's seriously huge and heavey. I ended up getting the gigbag also for those times when I'm not piling loads of gear around my pedal board. It's much easier to lug and you don't have to worry about banging up the house moving the hard case around.

im pretty sure the reason they changed from black to white is for temperature... white absorbs less sun then black which absorbs a lot

lol nice guess! the pedaltrain rep told me that they stopped production of black hard cases because the new gray ones stay cooler than the black cases by 30%.

i kinda wish they'd bring the black ones back though. i rarely need to keep my stuff out in the sun, and i still like the looks of the black one better.

or maybe i'll change my mind once i get it in person.. it's coming later today! :hyper:

They're well made. For the money there is no better pedalboard/ATA case combination. If the colour bothers you that much you can buy a new Pedaltrain and look for an old one on ebay. Pair them up and you can take the old pedal board and case and sell them used.

I totally agree with the frustration that ATA style cases are not available in enough colors, but...

How about a neat paint job on your new case? Anyone know if it works well?

I know its brand new and why hurry up and cover it with paint, but then it will be the color you want.

Of course, warrantee issues may also come about.
