People you thought were dead

Frankie Carlisle. My now eighty year old father used to listen to his records back in the fifties, and occasionally around the house when I was a kid. The other night we saw him on PBS and my father nearly fell over! He looked terrible but really sounded good. He must be at least 90.

Jim Carroll, ironically. My gf bought me tickets to see him and Allan Ginsburg read poetry back in the late 80's. For some reason I had just assumed he had Od'd.
 
I'm always surprised when I hear about Wayne Shorter gigging, I thought he died around the same time Tony Williams did.

Also, whenever I hear about any of the guys involved in Watergate still living I'm surprised...
