Double Bass Performing with upright and vocals only

I'm wondering if we are the only ones doing this.

Many times I feel bad not being able to pay my sidemen a decent wage -because I'm not getting paid decently.-

As of late we "Meet The Seavers" have been performing with just my upright and our vocals. Most times, the club will become silent and everyone will stop to listen. If you've ever played Nashville, you know how rare that happens. ( I think it helps that my wife is hot)

The downside of course is that my horn parts don't get played and I have to limit the material to songs that have a solid bass theme throughout.

Good lead vocals, and I like your back vocals on Intelligent Design. Your wife has excellent stage presence. You could learn some more of that.

Your video guy is pretty strong too.

Metaphor, I thought "The Language of Your Clothes" video was riveting. You and your wife have a compelling presence, and the songcraft and musicianship are top-notch. Steady on!

I'm working my catching up to her but there are SOOO many things to work on.
I don't know about any of you, but I find it hard sometimes to figure out what to spend my time on;
My Bass playing, writing music, lyrics, singing or not looking like a dead fish onstage.
I feel most of the time i'm doing too much of one thing at the expence of the others. Still, it's an enjoyable journey.
