Pet Peaves

:hiding: Rosewood Fingerboards :hiding:

Lovely wood...I just like it more in furniture more then I like seeing it on a bass.

I tend to rest my forearm on the top of the bass when playing so - bass bodies that aren't rounded on the edges.

I also tend to rest my thumb on the top corner of the fretboard or neck pickup, so - basses with triple thick pick guards that don't leave enough exposed fretboard or pick guard for my comfort.

Also, flying V's. Just because.

Incorrect usage of the term *fingerboard*(vs *fretboard*)
F-holes except on violin/viola, cello or[double]bass
Dots on fretless(hard to avoid on a defret)

BTW: it's *peeve*

;)

Edit: I'd also like to differentiate between *pet peeves*(something that bothers you for no legitimate reason)as opposed to design flaws(opinion moreless, but lack of a forearm contour would likely be uncomfortable for the majority of players, whereas the f-hole thing is just my own personal pref in aesthetics)

Pearl pickguards. A lot of people love them, but they look out of place in most situations, to me. Pickguards should either be solid or have a design on them - I'm *gaspshockhorror* not too keen on tort, either.
