Pete Wentz Squier...

I hate to say this.....because I nevr thought I would....

but.....I took a trip to GC today......and

I absolutely LOVED Pete Wentz's signature bass.

I think I may even buy one!!

I loved the sound which was really punchy and I never used the tone knob on my basses anyway, and when you're playing rock, a tone knob is pretty much useless.

My only thing: what can I do to get rid of that bat heart thing??

I actually really dig the maple + black + red pearl. I would rock that in a heartbeat.

I do agree that the bat graphic would have to go... Perhaps you'd just be better off getting a MIK black P-Bass and modding it with new pickguard/ pickups... Be better quality, too.

EVERYONE HANG ON THIS MIGHT GET A LIL HAIRY!

wentz is always a trainwreck thread but the bass is nice. one of the only P basses offered with a maple neck. a cheap refin could make this bass SO legit!

i cant wait til they bring out the black and purple Fender version which is equally sick and as i suspect probably even better to play.

I mean I could live with the one on the body but I'd have to get a new neck, that logo one the 12th fret would bug the **** outta me. Plus it's a jbass neck

the neck is what makes it perfect!
and how cany you say a 16" graphic on the body is ok but a 1" of the same on the 12th fret HAS TO GO?!?!

you can sand the 12th fret and paint a dot there in 3 minutes and be golden...much harder to ignore the same logo taking up half the bass. :smug:

I want someone to explain to me how this bass is actually different from any other "Squier" out there? It has a sticker? Is THAT it? How exactly might that make this bass worth 5 cents more than a common entry-level Squier?

Personally, were I a name artist, and Fender approached me and said "We'd like to make a signature bass for you - of course, it would be a Squier, not a Fender..." I'd throw them outta my house.

He probably likes the squire. He even plays with it. A TBer on here works at GC and told us about how he just dropped by and bought his bass hours before a concert.

I love the Squier VM Jazz more than my MIA Jazz, which is why i'm selling it. LOL
