I agree with you though, i would much rather enjoy this instead of going through the trouble of getting the maple neck and purple guard (fantastic combo IMO) Secondly i really dig the 1 knob only basses

Well mim's are now offered with maple, but if you wanted a jazz neck... plus you'd have to pull the tone knob and the purple pg IMO would look wierd without the logo.


If I ever found a few of em for cheap I'd buy em, (use some paint) and paint over the bat logo with purple and get the purple guard. And get a green perl guard and paint the logo green... that would be cool. Even though I don't like them I bet it sound like I do, I just don't care

Actually, I hate to admit it, but I love those basses too. I just always begin my posts with a cry of horror so people don't notice the spot where I say I like the bass.

This is why i got a new wentz for 130$ , it was eithier this for 130$ or an SX which would have been 130$ after shipping costs. This bass is going to go on tour and play alot of shows so i am guessing its going to get more beat so i wont repaint it , probably just put some duct tape over the chip.

I got my son a Wentz P-Bass for Christmas. (It's what he asked for) As much as I dislike FOB's music and Wentz's outlook on life, it's a neat bass. That J neck is super comfortable (rolled edges!!!), the SDD_QP sounds great and the red/black maple is cool as hell. Yeah, the bat is goofy. No biggie.

I like the Wenz bass.. it plays well and sounds good... not too shabby for a sub 400+ bass IMHO... although i don't like the colors at all... i would easily recommend them to people who want a nice better than average entry level bass for sure!
My undertanding is that he also plays them stock.. that gets my thumbs up.. no matter if he's good or not, at least he backs up his product
