Same--my teen years were spent obsessing over those same bands. I saw them all multiple times, but Genesis with Gabriel only that once(saw them w Collins in front later). I wish I had seen Genesis on the Selling tour!

And I'd have given anything to see the Lamb tour!!!! Saw them again on Trick and And Then There Were Three. I kinda lost interest in them with Collins as front man and the loss of Hackett but, they still did some incredible work.
I am in fact American myself, our local public broadcast station had Flying Circus re-runs on late at night. I'd stay up to watch it when I was in high school (this was in the late 90s) and it permanently influenced my sense of humor.
I'm sure a lot of the jokes went over my head because I never lived in England in the 1970s, but I loved it anyway.
Man, Peter sounds great! Rockin' band (that drummer, though!)! Tony and the Stingray.
I needed to go back to bed after a very late night, but I'm wide awake after those 2 clips! …

Peter has always been pretty health conscious. I visited him at Real World in 1988. Food was all vegetarian and the only substances I witnessed (and we were up until about 3 am...) was white wine with dinner (in an era where dead whiskey bottles and lots of sniffing was common in big studios).
Tony Levin and Lee Sklar are bassists studio/side men who have really cultivated a cool image or persona over the years. I guess Marcus Miller, with his hat, has done the same thing too.
Anyone on the fence, if you haven't seen them - go see them. You (and they) only live once and you're dead a long time. The wife and I saw PG in 2012, was a great show. As for Ticketmaster, it is what it is. Neither my wife or I had seen the Eagles live - despite me growing up in SoCal and having them be a soundtrack to my youth. Earlier this year I saw they were going to be 4 hour drive away for probably the last run of the Hotel California tour and I ponied up close to $1K for a pair of good seats and food/gas. From the first chord it was worth it.
My fun Tony Levin story. I played on a friend's album, doing all the bass tracks. Before the album was released he pinged me and sheepishly said that I'd been replaced on two of the songs. His producer wanted something different so he had Tony record the tracks. Oh well, if you're going to be replaced, not a bad person to do it. And oddly enough my wife met Tony years ago before we got together - she was in an artist residency up at Banff and he was there as well, met in the cafeteria. Small world...

That's a great story. If it were me I'd get business cards made that proclaimed "Almost As Good As Tony Levin"
