Peter Guralnick's Sam Phillips bio — anyone reading it?

Mrs. gave me this for Xmas and I'm finding it unputdownable. Knew very little about him (outside of the well-known stories) going in. A fascinating man with a musical and social vision that was ahead of its time and certainly not of its place.

It's astounding to think how many important, pioneering artists may have been doomed to eternal obscurity without him.

It's on my wish list. NY Times gave it a great review a few months back.

I'm only 80 pages in, but now I'm hot to read his other stuff. Feels very much like a "right man/right time/right place" kind of story. Although I've been made to understand he wasn't all that much of a saint.
