Peter Hook chorus: alternative to Clone theory (not analogue man)?

Can someone point me to a good VST chorus plugin (Mac preferred, but PC would work too) that can get me the Hook sound? Ideally even giving some tips on the settings would be awesome too...

I think that my Guyatone MC-3 nails the over-the-top chorus that Hook uses, but I've also played and loved the Hardwire and MXR chorus pedals. The Boss, to me, sounds way too farty and unconfident.

The Analogman Chorus is based on the design of the Small Clone and sounds magnificent! Especially with the optional "Deep toggle" activated http://www.analogman.com/clone.htm. Scroll down to the "History" portion..

I listened to the example you posted and I can get a similar sound with my Small Clone... which makes me want to turn off my computer and plug in...

I was willing to let go of my Clone Theory when I found that the Hardwire Chorus could hit the Clone Theory "Chorus 1" setting at 12:00 by setting the Hardwire to the "Vintage" setting and Depth and Rate both at about 10:30 or 11.

I'm really interested in the Hardwire, but have no where to try one. Could you get it to match the clone theory on the "Chorus 2" mode?

I never tried to play around with Chorus 2 very much. To be honest, I haven't owned either of those pedals in at least a year or two. My guess is "probably" - it was super-flexible.

I'm going to bump this older thread in hopes of seeing if anyone has had any luck getting this tone out of a TC Corona. Or, if you haven't, that's good to know too.

I ended up using an old Frontline chorus pedal. Gave me a really full Hooky sound and was pretty robust to boot.

I have the EHX Bass Clone on my board for a few weeks now and it nails Hooky's JD/NO tone.

Depth: 1, rate: 11, hint of octave down and you have a great 24 Hours tone.
Or both depth and rate at 11-ish for that sweet Ceremony sound.

If you want that lush chorus sound, try the new ehx bass clone chorus or the hartke bass chorus.

Only thing that puts me off Tech21 is the cost...Ok not as pricey as Analogueman but still getting there. How does it sound compared to the Boss, EHX choruses?

I second this suggestion...Best bass chorus i have eve owned...(and I have owned a lot!)

Anyway i brought a EHX Clone theory (the reissue) in the end. Have been really happy with it for Hooky tones.
Currently looking at the Bass Clone, but other wise happy with the CT

Here's a clip from that gig. The band is Ian Kevin (Joy Division tribute).
Settings on the BC: depth between 1 and 2 o' clock, rate 11 o' clock, bass and treble flat, X-over off.

My solution to getting the Hooky tone was to get an exact clone built of his vintage EHX Clone Theory. Obviously, the thing nails the sound. I've not had much chorus GAS since getting it a year or so ago.
