Yes, please do!

That would be cool too.

But, that's a long scale bass tuned EADGC... ;) Fender never sold many of those, so the chances of seing a modern version of the Bass V, from any manufacturer, are most likely incredibly slim.

I know I'd probably buy a Classic Vibe version of one of those.

I'd say we represent the bassist community as a whole.

I'd say you couldn't be farther off the mark if you tried. We represent the fanatical fringe of the bass market. (requried IMO, but this really shouldn't even need to be debated it's so freakin' obvious)

Most players don't give a flying Fig Newton about the stuff that gets dicussed around here on a daily basis.

Go out into the real world and talk to people out playing shows on a regular basis... or your average recrational player, and you'll most likely find they are nowhere near as into the gear as the average poster here. That's just reality.

:( Crap. I figured most bassists would be into the stuff we are (amp, basses wise)

I don't know any bassists in my real life so I have nothing to compare to.

Oh well shooting at squier is worth a try

How about a Squier version of the red double pickup "Tele" style bass ... like the one in this picture, taken at the 08 Summer NAMM show.

... I know they showed a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], but it's a little pricey @ 6k

Only if they fix the body. Man is that stupid looking.

If they're gonna throw a tele pickguard on, why wouldn't they make it so it visually works with the body? Like, and this is just an example, but MAKE IT A FREAKIN TELE BODY.

I wasn't going to say anything, because I am so used to having opinions on things that nobody agrees with, but yes!
That looks freaking stupid that way with a Telecaster shaped pickguard on a bass with an upper horn.

I'm not sure what to do about the lower horn area though.

My two cents worth...since I think the Squier Jazz Deluxe Active 5 is a steal for the money, I would love to see Squier combine vintage and modern ideas and issue a 5 string version of the '51 P, complete with a 5 string version of the pickup that is in the CV '50's P. True slab body, the Tele style headstock, large pickguard, the works, only in a wide spaced 5 string. (An updated bridge would be fine, though.)

PM me with what you want to see squier make. Personally I want to see a squier hoppus. And in whenever I'll e-mail squier.

Thx

My apologies if this request has already been posted.

I picked up a Fender/Squier Jazz Bass VM Fretless about two weeks ago and I am totally enthralled by it -- I am a pro guitarist (thank God there are fret lines, hah ha) -- and I can not leave it alone, playing it 5-6 hours in the evenings. The one I picked out at the store was very light and gives a pretty good "muahh".

I would love to see a fretted version with the ebanol fingerboard that the fretless I just bought has.

They do a fretted one, just like it, but it has active electronics.

It does come in Sunburst like the VM too.
