PF 500: Failure Issues?

Beans...can you tell me which letter corresponds to the week and year in the PF500 serial?

I've got another I'm trying to figure out for a friend.

It is confusing because the serial numbers vary. In this case, I think that EU are the year (A=2008, B=2009, etc) and month (A is first half of January, B is second half), so the first half of November, 2012. Does that seem right based on the purchase date if it was bought new?

Thanks brother. My cousin just bought it used yesterday. With a late 2012 he should be past the failure time period I think, right?
