PF-800 vs BH800

Gang, my Ampeg PF-500 did that board thing; would like something in class D that will hang with the tube monsters I’m playing with, but have the features the PF did. Line in/phones for practice. Not married to the Ampeg tone; the Marks don’t seem to have the practice features, nor do the Peavey or G-K. Suggestions??

Doesn't look like you got much help yet so I'll offer an opinion. I prefer the TCE BH800 over the Ampeg PF800, but that is a personal preference. If you have a little extra cash the Genzler Magellan 800, EBS Reidmar 750, TC RH450/750 and Genz Benz Streamliner are pretty sweet IMHO. Good luck.

Appreciate the feedback, budget is lacking, enough so I may go back to BH550 or rumble 500 and hope it wii handle the guitars tube amps. The PF gave up the ghost with the volume @ 2 o’clock. Hoping another 500 won’t

I can tell you that the BH550 does get louder and thumpier than the PF500 and the Rumble 500 I tried a while back was pretty decent as well. But probably the more important question may be what type of cab are you using that you need to crank a PF500 up to 2:00?

Hmm, not sure GK makes the NEO 412 in 8 ohm? I think only in 4 ohm, but in either case that is a lot of volume with a 500 watt amp and the master at 2:00. If that is not cutting it then maybe you should go back to your original plan of an 800 watt head. That cab is capable of handling 1200 watts.
