PF500 Footswitch?

Anybody got any info on a footswitch for the Ampeg PF500? There's a footswitch input on the back and I'm wondering what it's for. I somehow ended up in 3 bands in the last two weeks and every one of them are wayyyy different musically. It's be nice to be able to make some small changes on the fly. Thanks!

Although I don't own one, I'm pretty certain that the AFP2 has latching switches. They almost always are. Also, I don't think an ON/OFF LED is practical if it's momentary: it would only indicate ON when covered by your foot.

From the manual: On the stereo (TRS) 1/4" plug, the tip controls Mute and the ring controls FX On/Off.

I believe that the AFP1 would work if you just need the Mute function: I don't know what it's doing to the EQ section in this case. Because of the LED indicator, I have doubts that a generic switch would work.
