PF50T problem

It's normal for the power transformer to run warmer than the output transformer. But how warm is really warm? Mine is noticeably hot after long use at gigging volume, but not too hot to touch.
Always appreciated that warmed up power transformer in the winter months. Great way to warm up those hands after a cold set!
Mine after a couple hour gig is hot. Hot, but not too hot to touch. This is completely normal, and I've actually observed that once the output trans and the tubes get hot, that's when the bass gods allow the "sacred tone" to come out.
I know this is probably a good subject for a new thread, but what are y'all carrying your PF50T in? I dont think I want to use the K8 Tote, I would like something like I read from JimmyM. What is the model of your carry box, Jimmy?
I use something like the equipment case in the link for mine! The dimensions might be wrong on the one I listed, so do a little measuring.
The case I ended up with has NO padding underneath the amp. It was too tight in that respect. There is padding in the lid to cushion the tube cage and transformers, and there is about 2" of padding around the amp.
Ive been tossing that amp around in that case goin on 3+ years. It still looks brand new. Ive dropped it from 3' with no issues. Its been on the bottom of the pile in the van more than a few times.

This is the box I have...a tad tight but fine for riding around in a van. But I got it when it was $50, not $90!
Nowadays, I use a little $20 Meinl Bongo bag.

That zippered top seems more convenient than the K8 tote. I hate the zipper on that thing! I may have to get one of these bongo bags.

That's what I thought, too. Not the heaviest duty bag out there, but fine for toting in a van and push cart.
I’ll take a soft case any day for local gigs and storage. ATA cases are good but way heavy to deal with.
