PH-1 for Funk

Hey guys!

I've been toying around with a old PH-1. I turn it off when I slap but I've found that if I use it while fingering staccatto notes it can come out pretty nice.

What do you guy's think?


PD: I've searched the forums for PH-1 posts but they are all one year old or something.

If it works then use it, I would imagine a fast phasing sound would work for finger style funk.

Yes, I'm talking about the boss guitar phaser..

Is it true though it will cut my bottom end? I haven't tried it with the band yet so not sure..

Well, if you turn it on and you notice a loss of bass then there is a loss of low end, you don't need to test it with a band.

Even without low end loss some effects can cover you up in a band (like an overdrive when the guitarist is using distortion).
Generally you won't have a problem with being covered up by modulation effects (chorus, phaser, flanger).

Even if you do lose some low end, typically funk songs have a fairly treble biased EQ
