Phil Jones Bass Cabinets

Good day;

This question is for a pro like yourself or novice: Have you had any experience using any of Phil Jones bass cabinets? I'm particularly interested in anyone who plays electric or acoustic bass that have ever plugged into an amp connected to one of Phil Jones' largest cabinets like the PJB 16-B or 24-B cabinet.

The only pro I'm aware of is Bob Babbit and he's also one of the spokes persons for Phil Jones. I'm looking for an unbiased opinion of the larger cabinets. Thanks.

Funky,

I'm not a pro but I do own a PJ 8B cabinet and I play in 2 bands at my church as well as occasional other gigs. It's not a "big" cab like you were asking about, but it's not small, either.

The 8B sounds great. It is very clean, but can start to growl when pushed a bit. I have used it with my GK 700RBII, but I mostly use it with my GB Shuttle 6.0. Again, it has a great sound. I would say it compares very well to my Accugroove Tri-112 cab, but the Accu has a bit warmer sound to it.

Hope this helps.
