im wondering if anyone else idiolized/was influenced by the frontman for Thin Lizzy? the man could play some bass. plus i didnt see much on bassist's.

Back in the day he influenced me a bit.

I've got their Greatest Hits CD. Can't remember the last time I listened to it. I liked Jailbreak, Cowboy Song, etc...

i love the whole album. i think that he could have outdown the many guitarists that went through the band. his speed shows in Boys Are Back in Town.

Boys are Back in Town is great to play on a P (and anything else come to think of it) with a pick.

I had one Thin Lizzy album, "Live and Dangerous!" Those guys could rock live! Whenever I listen to bands like the Foo Fighters I wonder what Phil Lynott would be doing if he were still alive.

Phil was a fantastic front man - the mirror pickguard with the spotlight trained on it so he could shine the reflection over all the audience was so cool.

I was fortunate enough to meet him one evening during the Thunder and Lightning tour. A fantastic wit - typically Irish "gift of the gab". His demise was so unfortunate and a sad loss to the musical community.

Playing some of the Thin Lizzy stuff just makes you feel like a rock master - grooving on the low notes.
