Pick Simulation Effect????

If MysticBoo has not heard of it, it simply doesn't exist :smug:

That's not always true :p

Reminds me of the old Pacific Bell Yellow Pages TV commercials (before they became SBC, then became AT&T :hmm:)...

"If you can't find it in here, maybe it doesn't exist."

BUT... they didn't have any listings for mascot deathmatch arenas. So I'll just have to stick to Newgrounds for that. :D

Closest I EVER got was using a Danelectro Fab Distortion with the distortion all the way down and the tone dimed all the way up. Again, that's only the closest.

When I want to sound like I'm using a pick I just dig in with my right hand plucking up on the neck. I use light strings and it can be pretty convincing tonally. And I favor the neck pickup more than I normally would.

If you grow your nails to just the right length you can get em to just catch on up each wards pluck and create a pick style effect! It's hard to keep em there at the perfect length though... don't do it with nails that are too long or you may end up looking like the earlier photos!

+1, that's been my solution for years......although, I use a Pandora PX4B for headphone practice that does have a built-in "Picker" effect. I can't really describe the exact sound or how it works but it does boost the super high-end tone for a "clicking" attack sound when using fingers.

Remember that one pedal that had the input wired straight to the output jack?

I think that would do it, but when I want a pick sound I just play with a pick, so what do I know?
