Hi Jack,

The DC resistance adds in series, like any resistance. However, you might be complicating matters for yourself. If you are looking for something powerful in that position, I would probably go for the DiMarzio Model One, which is a replacement for the old Gibson "Mudbucker" used in the EB-series. The advantage to this pickup is that it is a dual-coil, 4-cond. model, which you can add a switch to inorder to do series/parallel or series/parallel/split for those times when you might want a touch more clarity. The narrower pole spacing with also accomodate the neck position nicely. It also requires just a single small route for mounting, making it easier than the two PU combo you are thinking about it.
