Picked up this beauty cheap - Cort GB95!

I won the auction for a gorgeous Cort GB95 w/Coffin Case recently. The bass and case look new! I pulled the strings, cleaned it up, added extra shielding (copper) as it had the conductive paint, added a battery-cut switch, set the action and WOW - what a player! I have owned about 50 basses or more and this one is definitely one of the best. The hardware is impressive along with the fit and finish. The Spalted Maple top looks great!

So far from the noodling I have done...YES - great sound! I have had Basslines in a modified SR405 (passive setup) and they sounded great in that bass without a preamp. I had a Cort B5 and was impressed with the workmanship and sound but the neck was a little too narrow for me - this one feels just right. My main bass now is a US Cirrus which has been one of the best basses I have ever owned (at one time I had 3 of them cause I liked them so much). This bass is to be a backup as I had sold my others but since I am playing Country now I will see how it fairs at next rehearsal - it may get lots of action. The thing about the Cirrus is the ease to the 24th fret. I don't need that access with my current genre and from some of the song parts I tried with this new bass (where I am past the 12th fret) I can reach the notes I need ok. I am looking forward to paring it up with my Carvin BR615N which is what I use at the rehearsal studio.
