Picked up Vintage Ampeg V-6 cabs? - Any info? PICS Inside

I picked up these two cabs earlier today - They are pretty large cabinets given that they only house 2x12" woofers.

Anyone have info on these? Good/Bad?

They are in decent shape, look to have original Eminence woofers -

Damn, they look like they would be cool keyboard cabs (wouldn't want to move them though).

I paid $200 for the pair locally - Figured I couldn't go wrong. They are currently loaded with Peavey 22a horns, these cabinets are built like tanks.

Those days were all kinds of strange so I could be way off here. But those are PA cabs in my book. Neat score though!

Figured from the horns that they were PA cabs - Loved the look when I saw them and had to pick em up. If anything I'll be "modifying" them this summer (The empty space between the 12" woofers and the Horn should be filled by something other than a tweeter IMO)

I had not seen those before. Pretty wild with the two high freq. drivers.

One might make a good 4x12 bass cab - or both as is for a fixed P.A. system in a club or practice space.

Oh come on. Don't ruin a unique vintage cab by trying to make it something it's not. Why are people always trying to do that on here? If anything, maybe just put some upgraded woofers in it (ie stuff that's reversible).

That is a VERY big box for a pair of 12s. You're going to be power-limited, the concern being over-excursion. My guess is back then the drivers they used would burn their voice coils before suspension damage could be done, so going with a big box gave them some decent bottom end and there was little risk to it. Also 5-strings were almost nonexistent, so there was little chance of suspension damage unless some genius decided to send a mic'd kick through them with the bass boosted. Make sure you run a VERY steep high pass filter, and set it to 45 Hz or higher.

I currently have (2) of these Ampeg V-6 Speakers, they are on wheels for easy moving.

Any idea the value??
