Pickguard poll for J bass (black body, maple neck)

As you can probably see, black pearloid is the one that's currently screwed in, and it's been there for quite a while as it's the one I settled for as well.

Mainly because I think it looks "original" and catches the eye without looking off.
White pearloid is great, but very Geddy-looking with a maple neck (although this is not a 70s style J), I think the black pearloid is a bit "edgier".

Black on black and maple neck is IMO the most aggressive-looking combo, straight from the end-of-the-70s Clash and punk/wave era. With rosewood fingerboards, it reminds me of Interpol.

Mint on black reminds me of a more interesting than parchment yet very "stock" Fender combo. Mocha is a small twist on it, not extremely noticeable under stage lights or in photos. It compliments the maple tint quite well, but probably looks "classier" or more traditional coupled with a dark rosewood board.

Tort on black is a quite safe combo, but imho some charm is lost with a maple neck. IMO, a reddish tort looks better with maple.

Did anyone here settle with unusual and cool combos over a black body and with a maple neck? Pics welcome.
I think something like a rather vivid pinkish red pickguard might look cool but very loud, definitely very polarising and not as versatile.

• I had a mid 90s EBMM Stingray four stringer, black with maple neck many moons ago. I put a Black pearloid PG on it (otherwise known as Mother of Toilet seat...MoT) and it was stunning. If it had been a fiver, I'd probably still have it.
