Especially since that color is just gonna get more creamy/faded, tort is the answer

I'm a tort-hater but I have to admit on a white bass it usually looks right. However with the shape of this pickguard, it's simply too much. So, if it was my bass I'd definitely go BWB.

Exactly why white, black, or gold pearl would be nice...and if it has to be tort, red tort.

As expected tort is the popular choice, it's nice don't get me wrong, I personally went white...I just love the look of white on white and rosewood.
Of the three, I have to vote tort for that shade of white, though I’m not really a fan of that particular tort pattern. Something less red. I think white if it matched the body color would look awesome.
It was a real tough choice between tort and black. I ended up going with black because it seemed to have more of a "simple elegance" to my eye. Probably because of the black pup cover and dark neck.
You aren't leaving a lot of options available.
What would you suggest? N.B. no guard is not an option.

That is why Sherwin Williams make all those different colors of paint.
That said, TORT is best everything else quite simply sucks.
