So I'm on the quest to find "my" perfect muff-based fuzz. I'm really leaning towards the Pickle Pie B, which I know is voiced a little on the brighter/more aggressive side relative to something like the Tall Font Russian (likely due to more mids). But the CME edition of the Pickle Pie B has that toggle that scoops the mids a bit for a more "vintage" sound.

Can any users out there comment on how useful that function is? Does it get you closer to TFR territory? Or maybe Box of War territory? I like the idea of having that versatility. It's why I've thought about getting the TFR with the switch to flatten the mids. But I'm more into the Pickle Pie B for the clean blend (yes, I know you can get a clean blend on the TFR - but it sounds like that mod doesn't works as well as the PPB's clean blend)

I've got one. And I like it! The scoop switch absolutely does carve out the middle, and combined with the Shape knob, the CME pedal has formidable versatility. I held out for a while to find one and am glad I did. And yep-- I always have the blend set somewhere in the middle unless I'm going all-out murderdoomdeath.

That said, I seem to be the only person on all of TalkBass with a Pickle Pie B of any kind; everyone else has a Tall Font Russian. Admittedly, I'm no fuzz expert, and plenty of ppl here are actual scholars on the history and development of the Muff and its infinite varieties, so maybe they know something I don't.

Regardless, I dig my CME PPB.

I've owned the P.P.Hella bass for a while and it's a keeper.Lot's of tonal control and the best bass fuzz imo.
