Pickup Covers

I've heard you can purchase covers for exposed pickups. I have an Ibanez GSR200 (Like this - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) and I am considering purchasing pickup covers for it. I haven't looked into it yet as it just popped into my head, but I have a few questions. Does anyone know about this? If so...
1. Is it worth doing?
2. Does it affect the sound quality?
3. How hard is it to find for a specific bass?

in short terms

1 is just for looks
2 no
3 in your case i think it would be easy

Thank you! I probably should have looked into it first, but it just popped into my head and I was doing something that would not have allowed me to put great time into doing a search. I knew I'd be able to find help here on reliable TB! :)

On another note, by my case, are you referring to my pickups being common?

Edit: Funny that this thread was moved, because I came looking for a reply to it in this very forum. I thought I had posted it here, strange that I hadn't. Sorry mods!

well p and j style pups are common, and GSR200 has a P style pup and a J style pup

BTW i think a bass looks better with the polepieces, i love Quarter Pounder pups looks
