pickup height gauges

Fender says 5/64th for high strings and 7/64th for low strings . I use a 5/64th and 7/64th inch allen wrench laid on it's flat side while pressing down at the last fret to set my heights . Works real well and I don't have to buy specialized tools for it .

I have them and I use them as a BASS guide for how i adjust them personally from there.

The issue with allen wrenches is that they're magnetic - when you put them between the string and the pole piece, the string moves - your setup won't be as repeatable or precise because of that movement. Brass rods don' t have that issue.
