Pickup height issue

My left pickup drops down whenever I accidentally touch it—but it only happens on the left screw. I pressed down on it to test, and it actually sank; it drops below the screw's limit, and I have to keep turning the screw to get it back up to the right height. The problem is, this is going to end up stripping the threads in the wood. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I installed these pickups seven months ago.

What sort of support do you have underneath? Foam, springs, etc? Need to pull the pickups for a looksey and repair.
