Pickup Installation for P bass. Please help!

I am replacing pickups and installing basslines.

I followed the instructions and soldered the cables.

I am screwing down the pickups to the body, but the top pickup always seems loosen.

If I flip the body up and down I can hear the pickup hitting the pickup case very lightly.

Also getting the cables to get out of the way of the pickup is a pain in the butt.

How low are the pickups supposed to be. I remember how my old pickups when being pushed down felt like if they had a spring on the bottom. These new ones not so much.

Please help me out with these 3 issues:
- Pickup being loosen inside the pickup case
- Cables around the pickup
- Depth of the pickup

mouse pad is a nice material for this ... I run my p-bass pickups fairly low into the body. I don't want any clack from strings hitting the poles and in general I feel I get better tones with the pickups a little lower. Not quite as much signal but then I would prefer that what signal there is - carries better tone or at least the tone that I prefer.
