Pickup not working

I am working on a old Kent jazz bass and the neck pickup is not working. There are no loose wires on any of the three pots. How do you start to find the problem? The bridge pup works fine. These are the chrome pickups with flathead screws on top. This bass has sat in the case for the last 20 years. Any help would be great. I can post pics if needed.

I would put a multi meter on it see if you have any resistance. Also how many wires does it have. Take off cover & look at copper wire see if you can see a brake in the wire.

Also I would wire the pickup direct to the out put socket & try it. If it woks then you look at the pots etc , if not its the pickup
