I got a model T schecter 5 string. Loving the bass but the sound is just not 100% for me. I have seen some threads about pickup replacements. Currently uses EMG LJ & EMG P5. I was wondering what replacement options might be if I decided to check out the route. Would something like the nordstran NPJ5 blade set be viable?

Why change the pickups? Changing from one p to another p will make little difference compared to choosing a different preamp, or preamp settings

I disagree. Pickups impart far more tonal character than preamps. Also strings can have a big impact.

@WarmToneWank - what do you not like about your EMGs? Yes, the Nordstrands should fit, but so will other options.

Don't hate them, just kinda want a more P bass vintage sound. These seem more modern rockish. Though love the look and feel of the bass.

I really like this sound

Though guess I would be switching active for passives. And flat wounds would go a big part of the way to it.
