Pickup Replacement for Epiphone EB-0

Can anyone point me in the right direction? This bass has that huge single humbucker with mudmucker tone.

I've defretted the bass, lacquered the frettedboard, put on Rotosound truebass 88 strings, and this bass now has the POTENTIAL for some amazing tone, if i could find a better PUP to fit.

I think the DiMarzio "Will Power neck (DP145)" is a drop-in as well. It's supposed
to have a touch less bass (according to the DM tone chart)

If that RS88S set is still too muddy, there's always GHS 3020 (short scale)
stainless flats :). I've got DR SNMR-45 Sunbeams (nickel roundwound on
a round core) on my soon to be de-fretted, short scale Ampeg AMB-1.
It has one Seymour Duncan SMB-4d pickup (ceramic) working in passive
mode

I must be old school :rollno: -- I love the combination of nickel strings and
ceramic pickups. BTW,,,both DM models mentioned are ceramic :D

Got it soldered, the red goes here, the green and ground here, and no one was electrocuted, burned, or maimed. It even made sounds like a bass when I play it.

But... the improvement is not as I had hoped. There is improvement, yes. but like from 80% mud to 40% mud. Well, that's 100% less mud. :)

Next I'll try some different strings and see how it sounds.

hey Bob, doesn't the Model One come with a coil tap switch and instructions on how to wire it up? that would give you a single coil sound which shouldn't be as muddy. you could also try swapping the tone pot and cap to alter the sound a bit more. I'm not sure what Epiphone uses as stock but I replaced them with 500k pots and a .047 cap in my Rivoli. it sounded better than the original configuration. I eventually stuck a Model G in it because I didn't really care for the Epi pickup.

I have a coil tap on my Model1, very useful, adds to the sonic palete of the instrument.
