Pickup Swap help

I have a 1994 Modulus Q5. It has Bart's in is. I can't stand them. Would like some suggestions as to different pickups. These are too muddy. To high clicky. Hated them since the day I bought this bass about 10 years ago, but these pickups have to go. I really like G. Goulds EMG's that he uses, but not sure if they will fit, or sound just the same in a older Moddy compared to the GGi5.
Need to dump all the electronics. Preamp and both pickups.
