Pickup swap options for a Peavey Palaedium

Happy Tuesday!
I'm about to acquire a Peavey Palaedium. I think most of my excitement comes from knowing that Geddy Lee used the neck profile of this bass to model for his Signature Jazz.
This one is coming to me with at least one missing pickup. I wasn't really a fan of the ones in there though, or at least the sound of them on demos.
I've been harboring some Thunderbird pickups I got off Reverb from PMC. Been looking to do a Thunderbird type w/o the bulky body. Although I think the cavities on the Peavey are probably too big. This thing could maybe turn out similar in looks to a Gibson IV bass, which I had never heard of until fairly recently.
I will search on here, but I am confused as to why Gibson doesn't seem to sell their Bass Bucker pickups separately.
I welcome anything you'd like to share on this. Thanks.

Didn’t know the bass, so I googled pics. I thought it looked like a Jeff Berlin bass, and it turns out it ISa Jeff Berlin Bass... well, they have a very uncommon pickup spacing, so it should have a unique sound...

anyway, those look like dual jazz pickups, no? Those seem to be quite hard to find. I’m not sure what would fit, but measure well. Maybe if you got a couple empty dual jazz cases/shells, you could fit other pickups in there? Or just rock smaller pickups with bigger gaps around them :)

That's a great idea about using the shell. Thanks for weighing in. There will be only one pickup coming with this bass. The other is missing. They are clearing out one of the old Peavey plants and this was a prototype that was sitting around. Basically new old stock in the case. I love wacky stuff with stories, so this bass definitely qualifies.
