Pickup Tone Multiplier

Since this thread has ventured into a discussion of pots (I can't pronounce potentiometers, let alone spell it.), if I find that the volume controls on my SS Jag have little evvect until I turn them nearly all the way up, what should I replace them with? I read a lengthy thread on this and came away thinking that I needed linear pots, but several sources say audio.

Replace them with linear taper pots. Audio tapers have little effect until they are at about 8. Linear taper works better when blending pickups.
