Pickup Ugrade advice

I have ordered a new bass on closeout at a great deal also listed as a B stock (Blem) anyway if I like it I would like to possibly upgrade the pickups. Of course I know on a off brand it may be hard to tell. Anyway would most of the MM pickups work? How about the single neck pickup. Here is some additional details plus a link. Thanks

Steve

Designed to thump out the low end. The Fullerton Ventura Deluxe Mahogany bass will get you through any gig or recording session. The solid mahogany body provides wonderful sustain and tone coupled with an active humbucking pick up and single coil pick up. The neck is slim and fast, perfect for the beginner or pro.

I have my pickups from my MIM J Bass just wondering if it would be bettern than the one that comes on the bass. I dont know that much about the active PUPs my J bass is passive. Thanks again

I don't think you're going to know until you play it and hear how it sounds. There's a sticky of a lot of pu's and their different sounds, be good to listen through those and see which one you would favor.

Play it first, you might be pleasantly surprised if it sounds more to your liking. :)
