I recently became reacquainted with my first ever 5-string from twenty years ago, a cheap, Taiwan made Yamaha BB405L. She has since been converted to fretless and actually sounds quite good. I’m thinking of replacing her bridge, tuners and pickups.
Does anyone have any recommendations for J-bass V type pickups which would suit? I’m keeping roundwounds on her because I quite like the growl of them, and am looking for pickups with a bit more bite to them which will serve this type of fretless sound. Thanks.
