Hi guys I own a 70s fender squire jazz bass and it sounds amazing but after hearing another with mods I think I'm going to pull the trigger and upgrade from the stock pickups to some aftermarket ones but I need some suggestions, I play gospel music/jazz on a 5 string, I love the monster low end, which pickups should I upgrade too????? Thanks in advance

I've been looking at Aguilar pickups. Lots of TB'ers seem to like them.
They make great amps so it stands to reason their pickups would be too.
I have an older Squier P-bass Special that has a great feel but super thin sounding pickups.
It has the serial # on the neck plate rather than the back of the headstock like most Squiers.
Love playing it and want to upgrade the tone/pickups and use it as my back up bass to my G&L ASAT at gigs.
But, I'm hesitant to invest in new pickups that cost twice as much as the bass did.
By the time I'm done with all the repairs, upgrades and new PU's if I buy them, I'll be into the Squier $300.
Not very likely I'd ever get that if I sold it but that's not my goal.

Both of these sets are about $190 for the PJ or the Jazz
