Pickup went microphonic!

I have an Epi T-Bird pro that I've had for less than a month, and my bridge pickup seems to have gone microphonic. Everything still sounds the same when I'm playing, but touching the pickup cover with a pick is super loud. I keep it in a case so I know it wasn't knocked around, and I've never opened up anything on the bass so I know I didn't loosen any connections.

Is there something I should look for? Or do I just need a new pickup?

Either the cover is loose or it needs to be repotted. Both easy diy fixes.

If the cover is loose, wouldn't I be able to push it around a bit? It feels nice and snug.

And how could I already need repotted pickups on a 2 month old bass?

Also, it's not causing any feedback from the amp, which pops up on every article I google about microphonic pickups....I'm so confused.

Any pickup makes noise when you tap it. No squeal, no microphonic. quit tapping it and just play it.

The normal symptom for a microphonic pickup is horrible, high-pitched squealy feedback at high volumes.

If you're talking about hearing a tapping/thumping sound through your amp when you tap the pickup, that's 100% normal. Pickups will have foam or springs underneath, so they can move a little bit when they're touched. Any movement between the pickup and the strings will get...
