Piezo strip uneven string volume [ABG]

This is one of the main reasons I tend to avoid under-saddle piezo pickups. I've had a few ABG's with this issue as well as nylon string classicals... including a few brand new ones, still with factory strings. It's just too frustrating of a system for me, especially since I'm not crazy about the tone either. I prefer K&K style acoustic pickups.

I feel like it's also worth mentioning that I have had output and tone consistency issues with several sets of TI flats, even on electrics with magnetic pickups. Gave each set plenty of playtime to break in too, but to no avail.

I got a solution that worked!! And I wanted to share with fellow TBer's. Shimming was the answer but not in the same way you may think. Ima flyfisherman and tie flies as a hobbie. I use a UV resin for coating some of the underwater stage flies. Basically I laid a small bit of resin 1/2 inch by 1/32” tall on the bottom of my saddle where the low E is. Cure it with a UV flashlight, then proceeded to sand it with 500 sandpaper on a straight flat edge. I used an extruded aluminum level. Less than 1/64 inch of material left. Almost nothing. Now you hear the low E just as much as the others!Super happy with the result. Hope this can encourage someone else dealing with uneven string volume.
