Always replace both batteries at the same time.Zombie threading here...
I've got a Hog30 that won't hold a charge. I few months back I tested both batteries and one wouldn't hold a charge so I replaced that one. It still won't hold a charge. I haven't tested to see which battery is bad or if it's both.
Someone told me that if you replace only one battery, the old battery will ruin the new one. Does this sound right to you guys? Is that what I did wrong? I don't want to shell out for two new batteries and find out the problem is something else.

I just scored the same amp, the local music store salesman rushes over to me and gives %20 off, i said SOLD!!! Well come to find out the batts are deaded(what a douche). I go to the local battery seller and picked up a 12v battery...the Pignose Hog 30 uses two 6v batts. The life on my new battery is almost two times the life of the factory batteries, so potentially 12+ hours of use? Will test this week, and give feedback. So far so good though...if you're interested, or anyone else, let me know, and i'll upload pics of the mod i did to accommodate the larger single battery, which was around the same weight as the two originals, so no worries there. Also, the two single batteries, like the original, are going to cost close to $50 bucks, i've searched high and low, my new single, more life battery...$30...DEAL![]()
I took one of mine into Batteries Plus and they matched it. A pair of them were far cheaper than Pignose and they've held up great for nearly 2 years now.I have a Pignose Hog 30 combo that is in need of new batteries. The current ones don't hold a charge anymore. The Pignose website has the set of 2 - 6 volt lead-acid batteries for $50. I found like rated lead-acid batteries on other websites for as little as $16 for 2. At 1/3 the price, I'd like to get the better deal. I'm assuming that there won't be any incompatibility with the charging circuit, correct?
