Ping Pong/Table Tennis

Mrs. slo and I bought a ping pong table. It is an outdoor table so weather permitting we will be moving it out of the garage into the back yard.
For now we have been having a great time with it. We also found out that a lot of people like to play ping pong. Been having friends and family over to play.
I have gone from being terrible at it to being just bad at it. I like playing people who are really good and make me work, that is helping me get better.
Anyone else like ping pong?
Also discovered Adam Bobrow he is very entertaining.

Cool!

Ping pong is considered in some circles to be "The sport of kings"? (Oh, wait. That's bowling, isin't it?)

The only thing I know about a ping pong table is that it is a lot less costly than a swimming pool.

It's one of those sports that you can play very casually, or VERY competently.

Try playing with a serious player, and serve without holding the ball in a flat palm...

When you say that you can play "very casually" does that mean with a beer in one hand?

I wasn't terrible at ping pong, but I never quite got good. Insisted on playing French grip for spinny stuff, but didn't practice enough to pull it off. Still, I had a wicked bending twisting serve...

TBH, I was better at PONG!!! Beep boop, boop beep! Harder than it looks to get good!

Most places we moved, my parents had a table in the garage, so I started getting good early on. Would beat most Americans I played. Years later, I got stationed in Sicily and played some hotel staff when we first got there.

I've never had my butt handed to me so frequently and so handily LOL! These guys and gals were next level. Aggressive and fast. It was impressive.

Glad to hear you, your family and friends enjoy playing, @slobake. It's always been good fun for me.

I had a friend and band member buddy who could do the French grip spin game really well. Nothing like watching him set up an easy lob for his power slamming opponent only to have the dude's jaw drop open as his "kill shot" slams straight dow into the table on his side, or goes sailing off into the audience. He humbled more than a few of the big shot jock showoffs with that stuff. Graceful but deadly lol.

I enjoy playing ping pong.

I h ae very fond memories of when I lived in Athens, Greece and my best friend Tony and I would go to our favorite cafe/bar for a bite to eat, a drink or two, followed by a night of playing ping pong on the cafe's table.
