Myself, I always found the germanium version underwhelming. Not bad, but for that general sort of peachy fuzz, the $69 BBM has me covered.

Re-watched your Assmaster review... I hate to nitpick, but somebody as into effects as you are should learn to pronounce silicon

Interesting observation, I do normally drift toward the angry aggressive fuzz. There is something in the voice of the silicon version that I find slightly abrasive, Josh even made fun of me when I called it 'honky'.

Thanks for the silicon point, I actually had to look it up, because watching it I had no idea what you were talking about. This may be the dumbest thing ever, but I really wasn't familiar with the fact that silicon and silicone were different things (makes sense now, I just never really thought about it)... I always just chalked it up to regional pronunciation. I do live in Missouri, so please forgive my speech impediment.

Well it IS honky, as was the brassmaster. Some of us LIKE our mids and prefer them to scoop - at least part of the time.

Also, I'm white (that's why they call me Sir Nose) so honky fuzz is appropriate for me.

I'm stoked on my silicon version as well - but if a BRASSmaster clone doesn't sound honky to you, I'm guessing you live west of I-5 and north of the 8!
