PJ using a neck pickup in bridge position -Issues?

My PJ jazz body is undersize and the bridge route is only neck sized.

Do I need to be aware/concerned about using a neck pickup in the bridge spot, in
terms of n/s, phase or anything, with a stock MIM P in the neck position.

I was thinking I'd upgrade the P at some point, but am shopping for a neck pickup
for the bridge position, first.

I'm on my 4th template for the custom pickguard for this "dinky" body.

Should work just fine. If the pickups end up out of phase just switch the hot and ground on one.

Usually, the poles spacing is not the same between neck and bridge. Not sure how much concern is that really If you use a Warwick pickup or something like that which has a bar magnet, that is not a concern at all.

Another problem could be the output - usually bridge J pickups are hotter to compensate for the bridge position, but even then some struggle competing with the P in the neck position. This P is also further from the bridge (= louder), potentially exacerbating the problem.

But there may be good ways to address this, depending on what you want, such as pickup height, finding a hot (neck) J pickup (eg Model J), wiring the P in parallel, etc… or some combination…
