    Hi Everyone

I need a recommendation for a plane brand that is a good value for the money. I need to buy a smaller plane of 2 or 3 inches in length with a straight sole.

I am aware of the Rolls-Royce brands, but since I won't use the plane very often I would like to see if there is a middle ground without breaking the bank.

An adjustable mouth would be nice, or a similar mechanism like the one found on larger Stanley planes where there is an adjustable metal shim on top of the blade that achieves the same thing as the adjustable mouth.

Hey, Chinese-made Plane Shaped Objects for working on your Bass Shaped Object! And they are almost the same price as the real thing - not for me, thanks... :(

You could always take your chance(s) on ebay. If you are diligent, something good may pop up.
Just be careful when you bid.
