Planet Violin was mentioned in earlier postings of a strange looking acoustic/electric upright. Planet Violin has another now, or at least I just noticed it on E-Bay.
Has anyone any experience with this one?
It looks nice and the price is right, 3/4 comes in 4 or 5 string version. Only 16:1 tuners and probably not real ebony neck or fittings and of course an inexepensive looking pickup/preamp system. The guy sent me a response from one of his buyers who praised the sound. Yes, yes I know that at least at some point you get what you pay for. Just curious guys so let me here from you. I am getting my first (upright) bass, do not have a mint of money and am watching the China bass market (among other stringed instruments from there) explode before my very eyes on E-Bay and elsewhere. Just want a sound I can live with for a couple of years until I can upgrade and since this one can also go electric seems like it could overcome shortfalls of possibly sounding not so hot when just played acoustically. Thank you!
