Yes I've done a search but I'm likely to screw up anything requiring me to use software. I just want a couple nice boxes to put my 3015(non-LF) drivers in and don't want to spend $$$ and wait 3 months for LDS. I'm thinking that they should be a little bigger than the TL 606 cabs I have now for just a skootch more low end. I don't need a tweeter or a six (though I'd consider the 6). I'd just modify the TL606 design but I'd like them lightweight. Are there some modern plans for the 3015 that fit this bill? Or do I have to learn WINSD or whatever?

If it's non-LF, the TL606 cabs are at the top end of the optimum size for the 3015.

I would suggest if you don't have the facility to measure and tune ports yourself that you go with the TL606 plans; they're flexible and sufficient.

I would modify the design for 1/2" plywood though just to cut some weight.

+1. The TL606 is slightly large for the 3015 non-lf. I will say that the driver works very well in a TL606, though ... I have two of them loaded with 3015's and love them.

YO! Check my signature.

Put two 3015's in a modified-TL606 design 2x15...the results are so completely badass.

The only modifications I made were to make the TL606 into a single 2x15 cabinet, and to increase the port height from 2" to 3" to allow for deeper lows and better 'breathing'.*


*this claim had no scientific support...but was suggested by TB'er Passinwind and was a tremendous suggestion. The lows are pretty great.

+1 on TL 606 design,had Don-LDS build this for me,
three week turnaround,tuned to 50htz,i installed the
3015 non LF,no mid,no tweet,great old school blues,
funk R&B cab..

No, it wouldn't be a TL-606. But, after re-reading the original post, I don't think the OP necessarily wants a TL-606. He already has one.

I actually wanted to build a couple of BagEnd S15 clones, but (real or perceived) I prefer front-firing ports.

In my next life, I'll make some BE clones with dual coax's to cover the full spectrum. The challenge will be finding the drivers that are worthy, but don't cost more than my mortgage.

winISD is very helpful and informative for any speaker project.

you dont need specific box plans to build a box. if you have a calculator and some BASIC woodworking skills, you can do it. i recently built 2 115s for the 3015s. i chose to make the box 2.85ft^3 (thanks winISD) and went from there. built out of 1/2" ply, tuned to 50 hz (thanks winISD) with a simple 4" hole port, slapped some carpet and hardware on there and i now have two killer 115s.

I've built a 1-12" with Win ISD. So now going to manually put in the info (T-S specs) needed to play around with the newer Eminence Neo drivers. 3012,3015.

Are the non LF drivers the more common drivers ,of the new Neo series, for application such as being discussed here. Single driver cabs, 2-12's or 2-15's. In other words old school meat and potato desigs??

I've posted this up before, but I love this cab so much (it's not mine, just had the opportunity to test it out prior to Don shipping) that I thought I'd share it again in this thread. This is a one way 3015 loaded LDS cab... beautifully punchy and a bit grindy in the upper mids... very small, very lightweight. The soundclip is with the Markbass F500 (shown... relatively flat, clean, transparent head) and my Sadowsky ash/maple J with single coils (aggressive and grindy bass).

I was super intrigued by this cab last time you talked about it. I emailed Don about it, but there was some confusion over which cab I was asking about. Maybe I need to email him this photo. It really seems like it's what I'm looking for. Volume, punch and size over fidelity.

It belongs to Ryan Mohr (I think I have that spelling correct). Tell him it is the 115 that Ken loves:D

Yes, it is surely not pure like the 12/6 and 15/6's, but I totally dig that upper mid character and grind, and the tighter, punchier low end. Just a fantastic cab to my ears, and it CRANKS with 300 or so watts going into it. GREAT cab for moderate volume 'vintage meets modern' sort of tone/vibe IMO!
