Actually, having read more thoroughly, I was wrong. OP is not a troll. Prone to mis-speaking, but not a troll.
But, I am still here if you need me.

Sorry, sorry fellas (and gals)!
I'm a white European dumbbell, whose record collection consists of 98% black music (soul, funk, jazz, reggae, afro). So in my surroundings I have constantly to defend my music taste against majority and this has probably made me over-aggressive and causing me to throw those rather stupid irrelevant remarks.
My stupidness makes me sad, cause it ruined my prospects to be part of this vast community.
Got to keep on lurking on as before
Ciao
Story time!Getting to work with Bootsy and Fred Wesley was a dream. Thats something that will never come off my resume.
I'd really suggest delving deeper into Larry Graham's stuff. His playing on Betty Davis' first album isn't overtly flashy, but grooves hard. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of amazing funk bassists from back then..Byron Miller and Louis Johnson are my favourites right now, but I haven't heard many 70s funk players who couldn't bring it!
Kind of Bootsy style (see also page 1 for Theron Brison):
