I do a lot of slap riffs, and I want to make sure I can be heard. What do I tell the sound guy to make sure I'm heard and not just felt?

Just tell him the sound that you're looking for in terms of your bass. Don't actually tell him how to do it, though. Sound guys don't like to be told how to do their job.
