I've been gigging an Eden WT800 and (2)4x10XLT cabs since '97. Does that answer your question? Damn, although I do admit that I would love to see how some 12's sound, as opposed to 10's.

As an opening band your soundcheck is going to be fairly short and you're going to get the sound company's engineer, not the hired gun the headliner will bring. Just keep that in mind as you won't have much time to dial in your amp. In general, assuming no IEMs, I prefer my bass rig to be tall so that the top speakers are close to ear level. That's as much of a reason as any to get an SVT/810 rig.

The Eden rig set flat is a little boomy for my taste and given the circumstances, especially since the rig doesn't need to be very loud. I toured with a WT800/XLT410 rig for years but on backline gigs I'd always spec an SVT since the house was taking a DI straight off the bass anyways and I do enjoy playing through all tube rigs when somebody else is doing the lifting.

Still waiting to hear back from the sound company as to whether or not they can do an Eden stack or if I will be going SVT with the fridge....

The sound company says that the Eden 2x12 and 2x10 combo is a go if I want it! I think I am going to try it. They are going to DI and Mic the cab so the setup will definitely play a factor.

While I'm always happy to play with cool gear at others' expense, why not simply use your head that (I would hope) is already set up for your music?

My band has spent a lot of time dialing in everyone's sound so we all mix together very easily, sound guys love us. Why go fixing what isn't broken? Especially when you will most likely have a PA that's going to do all of the work for you and your stage rig is just going to be a personal monitor?
