Being in a tribute band, I really don't like it when a warm-up band for us plays one of our tunes. Even if they mention us before doing it. I'm not steaming mad because of it -- nothing is said -- but I think it's bad form. Blatant attempt to get what usually is "our crowd" to like them for the wrong reasons.
but honestly it occurs and nobody really cares. We just go up and do our thing.
As far as inviting their singers/musicians up, I don't care for that either, although our lead singer seems to like doing this. The problem is that 75% of the time, despite what the person says, they usually butcher it and it kills the momentum for us. But again, it's not that big of a deal. I'm "just the bass player." I do my thing. I have fun. I collect my money. I go back to the hotel or home after.
